MOFO from Yesterday

10 06 2008

To the Mother Fucking Asshole who wouldn’t let me through yesterday.  An enthusiastic FUCK YOU!!! and I hope you die!! is in order.  The same goes to the lovely individuals who decided to throw fruit at my car while driving home late at night in Toronto.  You guys make the GTA a happy place to live.

Guilty Pleasures

30 05 2008

I recently found out how to use the video feature on this social chat network.  I used it a couple of times and every time I use it I get a crazy amount of friend requests and people who want to talk to me.  Its a real ego booster.  But I know its all fake.  Its just a bunch of people who are lonely or desperate or are just bored.  The first thing they ask is asl which I hate.  So I just ignore it all.  But I must admit I don’t get tired of people complementing me.  hmm. that thing is really dangerous.  I think I’ll stop going there now.  Good thing I’m not addicted!  Its so sad when some people chat away in chat rooms and whole days would pass… I kind of remember someone like that in the past (not me).  I think if I have kids, I’ll have to restrict their internet use.

What happened to Val?

28 05 2008

I was really curious as to what happened to Val from “Life of a Valley Girl”. I even wrote her a note asking but she never did respond. So I googled it since I knew she had a large fan base and thought maybe someone might know something. I came across “Fabulously Broke in the City”. She once interviewed Val for something in her blog so I guess this is why Val wrote to her since she may be able to get the message across to most people. I’ll copy and paste the reply here, just in case the link no longer works later on.

Dear friends,

This is Val who wrote the blog, “Life of a Valley Girl.” I wanted to take this opportunity to say “goodbye.”

As some of you may know, I have deleted my blog. The reason behind this is for personal safety. It has come to my attention that someone (or multiple someones, I’m not sure) has been going to extreme and disturbing lengths to uncover my identity for the purpose of causing me harm. And while I can assure you that I’m okay–everything in my life is going well (knock on wood)–I’ve unfortunately come to the conclusion that it would be in my best interest to delete the blog.

For all of you who have ever sent me words of encourangement, praise, or advice via my blog comments section or e-mail, thank you. As many of you know, Life of a Valley Girl was my form of therapy, and to get such an overwhelmingly positive response from the people who stopped by to read my thoughts really restored my faith in the kindness of others.

I wish all of you the best of luck. I’ll miss poring my heart out to you on a daily basis and commenting on your lives as well.

Feel free to keep in touch. However, I should say that I can no longer be as open about my personal life as I once was for reasons I’m sure you all can understand.

Cheers and hugs,
Val

So… mystery solved. I really thought it was because someone had found out about her blog. Its too bad this had to happen. Her blog was seriously THE most interesting blog I’ve ever read. :) It was almost like a television show. But I understand why she needed to do what she had to do.

Person with a wooden leg that lives above me

26 05 2008

I couldn’t stop laughing at this rant that someone wrote on Craig’s List. :) I’ve lived in an apartment before and I know what its like to hear noises. Although the worst I’ve heard just sounds like a kid that plays with their ball or toys.

Coffee Break

25 05 2008

We’ve been searching for the perfect coffee table for a while now and still haven’t found one.  This weekend we’ve been shopping around from store to store looking for something unique.  I guess I’m just really picky.  We don’t have much furniture at the house so I really want something that will complement what we have but also stand out on its own.  Apparently this is a lot to ask for… Perhaps I should start visiting antique shops or something…

What happened?

22 05 2008

I wonder what happened to Valley Girl’s blog?  It says the blog has been removed.  It makes me wonder now whether someone who was not supposed to find out about her blog had found out about it.  I wrote to her to see what she would say but nothing.  I think something happened.

Curtisy to Anne

22 05 2008

I have been watching “Maging Sino ka Man” Book 2 the last couple of days. I find that the storyline is much faster than the first chronicle. I really like it though. My favourite love story is of JB and Celine. In particular I am very fond of the Celine character and I think Anne Curtis is now my favourite actress in the Philippines. :) She seems really charming and so beautiful. I wonder if she’s really like that in real life.

UK

22 05 2008

I’ve been sick the last couple of days.  I’ve been having stomach problems lately and I don’t know what the cause is.  However its gotten better so I’m happy.  Hopefully it was nothing.

We’ve booked our days off for this summer.  We are planning a trip in July to visit my sister in the UK.  I’m currently searching for cheap flights and I think I might have found something.  I’ll have to discuss it with my husband later tonight.  It seems we have to move quickly because the seats are filling up fast.  I guess we’re not the only ones who want to travel during the first week of July. No surprises there… :)

3. Finish painting the house.
4. Get life insurance
5. Figure out where to invest my RSP’s.
6. Buy an LCD tv

TGIF

2 05 2008

Today is the first day of our half day Fridays for this year. I called my mom and we went out for lunch. This is a usual ritual we would have during my half days. She told me that my sister is doing extremely well at work. Not only is she the youngest employee in the company but the lead editor has given her permission to cut a Tim Horton’s commercial. I won’t say too much about it but this is a REALLY big deal. Most assistants are not allowed to edit until they’re at least been working for a year or two. My sister has been working for about 3 months! They are just really impressed with her because they also found out that she is able to work with Avid which is a pretty complicated program. I guess my sister is just starting to learn about office politics and is not really sharing too much with the other assistants just in case. I’m pretty proud of her. I always knew she was talented. I am hoping now that she can build more of a better relationship with my parents.

Tonight I’m probably just going to continue working on that catalog due sometime this coming week. I just have to remember that I’m doing this for a new bed. :)
