I was really curious as to what happened to Val from “Life of a Valley Girl”. I even wrote her a note asking but she never did respond. So I googled it since I knew she had a large fan base and thought maybe someone might know something. I came across “Fabulously Broke in the City”. She once interviewed Val for something in her blog so I guess this is why Val wrote to her since she may be able to get the message across to most people. I’ll copy and paste the reply here, just in case the link no longer works later on.
Dear friends,
This is Val who wrote the blog, “Life of a Valley Girl.” I wanted to take this opportunity to say “goodbye.”

As some of you may know, I have deleted my blog. The reason behind this is for personal safety. It has come to my attention that someone (or multiple someones, I’m not sure) has been going to extreme and disturbing lengths to uncover my identity for the purpose of causing me harm. And while I can assure you that I’m okay–everything in my life is going well (knock on wood)–I’ve unfortunately come to the conclusion that it would be in my best interest to delete the blog.
For all of you who have ever sent me words of encourangement, praise, or advice via my blog comments section or e-mail, thank you. As many of you know, Life of a Valley Girl was my form of therapy, and to get such an overwhelmingly positive response from the people who stopped by to read my thoughts really restored my faith in the kindness of others.
I wish all of you the best of luck. I’ll miss poring my heart out to you on a daily basis and commenting on your lives as well.
Feel free to keep in touch. However, I should say that I can no longer be as open about my personal life as I once was for reasons I’m sure you all can understand.
Cheers and hugs,
Val
So… mystery solved. I really thought it was because someone had found out about her blog. Its too bad this had to happen. Her blog was seriously THE most interesting blog I’ve ever read.
It was almost like a television show. But I understand why she needed to do what she had to do.
